Enjoy the spirit of reunion

Reunions are now becoming more popular than before and remain a big way to hook up with the old friends and rekindle past university memories. Decide on the group that you like to invite - previous course mates, members of sports club or society or fellow inhabitants of a student house. There are no solid and fast rules and you can make as wide or as narrow as you choose. But you should consider if the invitation is open to your friends or partners. You need to think the time for the reunion if you are inviting people from abroad and the date should be set early (possibly up to a year in advance)inorder to allow people to organize holidays around the reunion.

Then you must have an idea of budget for the event - remember to consider costs like transport, car parking and accommodation and so on. It will be useful to find out how many people are prepared to pay before any final preparations are made. Another important factor to consider is the format, for example an informal meal and chat in a pub, or a tour of 'old haunts', on campus and throughout the city, or a weekend that is full of activities. The only one constraint is the budget and your imagination.

Ideas for class reunion

Choose a class reunion theme and make sure that this theme is evident in every detail throughout your festivities: from invitation to activities. Have a welcome night that is very casual and intimate where folks can come for drinks, light snacks and so on. A local pub or small restaurant where you used to hang out during your school days will be perfect for this. Place disposable cameras at every table and continually have your DJ/Band/MC make announcements and reminding attendees to take candid photos of each other.

Once the reunions are over, post photos on a website and send links to every one who attended. On the nametags, have a photo of the person as shown in the Senior Year Book so people can identify each other easily. Have a caricature artist come and do people's portraits during your main event.Plan a tour of your wish. It's amazing what memories and stories come back and will be shared! If there are classmates too ill to come, create "get well" cards and have everyone at the reunion sign them. Invite feedback at the end of the class reunion. Have feedback cards that can be handed out or mailed. Make sure you know the exact time restrictions at your booked location from time you can access the location to the time that your party must end.

Try icebreakers in your reunions

A goal for family reunion organizers who expect extended family to attend is to have people talking and enjoying themselves as quick as possible, because there is so little time to do it. Activities like Ice Breakers help to loosen everyone up! Many of these can be arranged easily and quickly where others require time, effort and collection of supplies and materials.

The person who organizes ice breakers and give introductions at your reunions must be enthusiastic and able to sell everyone on the fun to follow. Oldest generation may be asked to introduce themselves, their families and share special events that occurred since the last reunion. Then, they can read letters and shared pictures from members who could not attend. Another idea is to ask the members a list of questions which reveals their talent. People will get acquainted and learn interesting information about each other this way.
